Today is a very special day!
Not JUST because it is Valentine’s Day…Although that is a pretty grand reason to celebrate.
Today, we are celebrating the cover reveal for An Hour Unspent, book 3 in my Shadows Over England series.
I am so grateful to the entire team at Bethany House for the dedication and thought that they have put into every cover in this series. An Hour Unspent was no exception…and this cover truly made me giddy when I first saw it…Ok, it STILL makes me giddy.
First…A little about the book…
Once London’s top thief, Barclay Pearce has turned his back on his life of crime and now uses his skills for a nation at war. But not until he rescues a clockmaker’s daughter from a mugging does he begin to wonder what his future might hold.
Evelina Manning has constantly fought for independence but she certainly never meant for it to inspire her fiancé to end the engagement and enlist in the army. When the intriguing man who saved her returns to the Manning residence to study clockwork repair with her father, she can’t help being interested. But she soon learns that nothing with Barclay Pearce is as simple as it seems.
Are you intrigued yet? If you have read the first two books in the series, you will know that Barclay and his “family” are a bit unconventional and fiercely loyal. I am so glad that I have had the opportunity to introduce them to you.
…Drum roll please….
…I give you….
…The cover…
…of…
An Hour Unspent
I absolutely love that inside-the-clock view! When my editor told me they’d be doing that, I was super excited, and I adore how it turned out. So unique! Such an interesting perspective! And featuring the daughter of my fictional clockmaker who tends to the clock in Big Ben…perfect. =)
I can not wait for you to read Barclay’s story, which will be releasing in September! In the mean time, how about a little GIVEAWAY to tide you over until then?
I am giving away the FIRST two books in the series to ONE lucky winner. Please enter the giveaway via the Rafflecopter form below. Giveaway will end 2/21/18 at 11:59pm EST. Open to U.S. mailing addresses only. Void where prohibited.

All three of the covers are lovely and go so well together. I really enjoyed A Name Unknown and am thankful for the chance to win A Song Unheard. Of course, I'll be wanting to read An Hour Unspent when it is available too. Thanks for the giveaway.
All 3 of these covers are gorgeous, but I think I like this one the best. t.kitchen[at]outlook.com
The cover reminds me of the 2011 movie Hugo which took place in a train station and had automatons and clocks. I want to go back in time and visit where the clock in this cover stands.
I love this cover with her blue dress and the light streaming in from the outside of the clock.
This is a lovely cover and so appropriate for the story! I have the first book of this series but not the others. Thanks for this giveaway.
I just finished A Name Unknown yesterday and I absolutely loved it! I've started A Song Unheard and I'm certain I'll love it too. This is a series I'm going to recommend to everyone who loves books as much as we do 🙂

I love the clock, so very Intriguing.
Haha, never mind! I just read the other comments! I see that I wasn't the only curious one! 🙂
Is there a reason that you put Evelina on the cover instead of Barclay? Was it to keep the covers all matching? Just curious, lol. She's very elegant looking, especially with the clock behind her. I love it!
Love love love!!! Can it be out tomorrow?????(o:
Love the cover and love reading all your books!
I love it! The cover has an air of intrigue and suspense with that ticking clock! 🙂
I love it! I know they say not to judge a book by its cover, but this cover makes me interested!
This cover is beautiful and seems the perfect cover! Congratulations!!
There's a clock like that inside the Musee d'Orsay. It's stunning in real life and your cover is also stunning. Thanks for the chance.
At Bethany House, there's actually a team that decides on the direction and final choice of the cover–my editor's just the go-between with me. =) For me personally, I've loved all the choices that BHP makes. And while I would have loved to see the hero on this cover, I totally understand their reasons for using the heroine instead. And it's so striking… There has been a cover of mine I didn't really love, but with a different publisher. I won't say which one, LOL. 😉
Perfect for the title! Love it 🙂
love it! perfect for the title 🙂
What a beautiful cover. I haven't heard of this series, but now I am intrigued with it. I can't wait to read it!
Absolutely LOVE the cover! The title of the book is intriguing. Between them both, I'd definitely love to read the book even without reading about it.
Thanks for the chance to win a copy! I'd very much love the chance to read it.

Love it!
I like the inside the clock view too.
Love this series! Can’t wait for Barkley’s story. I thought it was interesting the editor chooses what goes on the cover. I love it, but I wonder if there has ever been one you disagree with??
I love the cover! And the clock background ties it all together. I'm sure you are thrilled with it. Congrats!

I know! I'd hoped. And asked. 😉 Actually, I asked for both of them to be there, and at first I thought they might do it that way…but I guess they decided to go with consistency. Which is also cool. But *Barclay*. Sigh.
I'm super excited to read Barclay's story! The anticipation reminds me of when I read The Lady of Bolton Hill by Elizabeth Camden and the character Bane (Alexander Bane) was introduced. I just know Barclay's story is going to be fabulous. How can it not be with a cover like that, right?! Although, I teeny-tiny wish it was him on the cover. 😉
Beautiful cover! And the story sounds very intriguing too. Looking forward to reading it!
Beautiful, very creative! Love the blue dress.
One thing I like about the cover is that it foretells the story within the pages. And this is one story I look forward to reading.
Beautiful cover! I can’t wait to read this book. I have loved all the other books so far!
I am so excited for this book! The first two in the series were fantastic and I'm sure this one will be the same!!!
Awesome!!
That cover is stunning! Your publisher and designers are capturing your stories so well in their cover…because I always judge a book by its cover!
Ahhhh it’s so beautiful! I still haven’t read A Song Unheard yet (waiting for the library to get it in) but DIS ONE SO PRETTY!!!!
So in love! With the cover and the book!
Love it! I love all your covers! Always so appealing to me. And as a graphic designer I'm guilty of judging a book by it's cover. But I'd pick up your's in a heartbeat!
Aw, thanks so much! I'm rather excited about it myself. =) Ah, Barclay…
first comment 🙂
The cover is absolutely beautiful!!!
I am sooooooo excited about this book because this is one of my favorite series.
