Yesterday marked my 1,000th published post on Writing Roseanna. Happily, my chosen post for the day was a fun one, LOL. Apparently I’m not the only one in the world so intrigued by book covers and the process of making them. 😉
I was debating what to do to celebrate this milestone. A giveaway? Maybe. Maybe. Some sort of party was surely in order. But…what?
Honestly, as I sit down to write this, I’m still not sure. But I figured I’d start with a few things I’ve learned through blogging.
* It’s a great way to make friends. Some of you readers I would never know if not for blogs, but I’m so, so glad I do!
* I like having a venue for my thoughts. I’m not exactly a record-setting blogger with a devoted throng of tens of thousands who come by to see my wisdom, LOL, but I’ve worked through a lot of faith issues on here. That’s not to be disdained.
* Consistency is definitely key. So even though I’ve gone down to three days a week from my at-first five, I do try to keep those days consistent. And when I miss one, I notice.
* God can use blogs in a big way. Which sounds funny, LOL. But seriously. I couldn’t tell you how many times a blog reader has left a comment that just brightened my day and kept me going. And I love those days when I get a note, either in comments or email, saying my post was just for a particular person that day. Those are always, “Wow, God. Thanks.” moments.
And so, I’d like to thank you all today. You who comment so faithfully, you who read but don’t often choose to interact like that. You who insist I keep blogging when some days I wonder if the blogosphere really needs one more voice.
So I’m going to offer one of my books to someone. Not gonna make it fancy–two ways to enter, and one of them is tell me what you’d like if you win. =) (A Stray Drop of Blood, Jewel of Persia, Love Finds You in Annapolis, Ring of Secrets, Whispers from the Shadows, or Circle of Spies)
(Circle of Spies isn’t out yet, but I’m giving you that option anyway–with the understanding that you’ll be waiting on it if you select that one.)

Wow, 1,000 posts? Congratulations!!! I love reading your books and you blog!
I finally got a chance to read "A Stray Drop of Blood" a couple months ago. Beautiful job! 🙂 And of course I read "A Hero's Promise" as soon as it came out. Can't wait for "Circle of Spies"!
What I have learned? I started blogging in 2008 and it has taught me not only a lot about writing, but about my faith, and friendship.
I have been thinking about starting my own blog and have been really inspired by yours. I especially like all the words that you look up and the way that you present what you have learned. Thank you!
I like reading blogs. They give you insight into the person who is writing them. They tell you what is going on in their day to day lives and I like that. My sister and her husband are missionaries in Kenya and she has a blog and I love reading it because she writes about things they are doing daily and posts pictures of where my brother-in-law has been and it keeps us in touch with them.
Congratulations on your thousandth post! 🙂 And thank YOU for writing!
Congrats on your 1000 post! I enjoy blogging and reading of the great things God does, learning history facts, new book releases and craft ideas.

I have several of your books on my Kindle, but haven't read any of them yet, guess I should remedy that! They tend to get lost in the shuffle of new downloads I think.
And I'm so grateful to have a reader like you, Joanne!!
Isn't that an amazing thing, being able to connect like that? I totally agree!
Ah, connecting with other Word Nerds–this is surely what blogging is all about, LOL. So glad you've become a regular around here, Rachael!
I also own every one (other than circle of spies, of course!), so I'm putting in for the unreleased one. And you KNOW I love your blog. Contests on 1000 posts!
What I have learned from a world of blogs ~ sharing with other women from our hilltop is like reading books as they happen. Appreciate the sharing and being able to pray for needs of others, sharing joys and needs only God can fill. Thanks, and congratulations on all of those thoughts! Keep them coming. Felicitations! As a language junkie, I especially enjoy your etymology posts. Thanks for all the work you put into your blog!
Hear, hear!
Thanks for coming by, Bethany! And you know, you can always test the waters with the free novellas. 😉
Aw, thanks, Barbara!
Well I have no idea who "Anonymous" is, but thanks so much. =)
WOW! Congratulations on 1,000 blog posts! Learning about blogging has been in baby steps and between the usual daily soap operas of life. I enjoy blogging, however still struggle to be consistent and up to date. Blogging has certainly brought many new acquaintances and information, which is the fun of it. What a blessing and my purpose is to glorify God in my writing efforts. Keep writing, Rosanna – you're one of the best!
Congratulations on your big milestone! I enjoy reading your posts. You make us think and always include interesting tidbits of information about writing and publishing. Thank you for allowing God to use your talents.
Congrats! I think my favorite things I've gained from the blogging world are the friends I've been able to make. Including the chance to connect to authors I never would have been able to otherwise!
Congratulations on reaching 1,000 posts!! Thanks for the opportunity to win one of your books! I've heard lots of great things about them, and thought I've never read any myself, I'd love to! Have a lovely day!
Bethany
Thanks for stopping by, Heather!
That's gonna take me a loooooong time, LOL. Thanks! =)
10 times?? I think you may have read it more than me at this point, LOL. Or just as much, anyway. 😉
I enjoy enjoy reading author blogs to learn more about them and their books. Thanks.
Congratulations! 1,000 posts is quite the accomplishment. Here is to 1,000 more. 🙂
Congratulations! That is a whole lot of thinking when you consider how much thought goes into a single blog post. I know it always takes me some time to come up with what I'm going to say. Of course I love your Culper spies books, but one of my favorite Christian fiction books…ever…is Love Finds You in Annapolis, Maryland. I've read it about 10 times and 1 of those was to my husband. 🙂 If I ever feel down and want to read an uplifting story I go to LFYAM or Short Straw Bride, so you can see that you're in good company. I look forward to reading more of your blog posts.
Thanks, Beth! I'm really looking forward to the release of Circle of Spies. =) And it's amazing what we learn through blogging, isn't it?
Thank you! And same here!
Oh, they all are. 😉 LOL
Awww =) Glad to get to know you too, Kishona!
Congratulations! I'm so glad a friend mentioned one of your books on Facebook – it led me to one of my new favorite authors of the past year (that would be you!). Not only do I love your books, but I enjoy getting to know you through your blog posts. Such fun! 🙂
Congratulations on 1000 posts! What an accomplishment! I have learned about new authors and books I never would have without them.
Congratulations on your one thousand posts. 🙂 Choosing only ONE of your books was difficult, as they all look so interesting.
=) Still love my JoP too.
Thanks! It was fun to put together too. =) And a thousand more will take me YEARS, ha ha, but we shall see. =)
Congrats on your 1,000 posts! That is so awesome! I am learning things everyday about blogging and I know that I have TONS more to learn. I love reviewing books and blogging on them. I love your Culper Ring Series!
That is fantastic. It was hard to decide which book to pick, since I have all of them and LOVE all of them. I picked Jewel so I can give it to my oldest daughter. It is one of my favorite stories ever!
One thousand posts? Congratulations! Here's to a thousand more 😀 I loved the book cover post by the way – it was fascinating.
